About
Stacey Shaw has been in the education field for 25 years. During this time, she has taught all ages, from pre-school to adult in a wide variety of subjects including Language Arts, Social Studies, English as a Second Language, and Spanish. She has been a professor for six years for the Heritage Institute, teaching several graduate level professional development courses for K12 teachers. Currently, Stacey is completing her doctorate degree in educational leadership with a focus on social justice, equity, and trauma-informed practices.
Stacey began practicing yoga in 1996 in a small town in Western Colorado. Over the next fifteen years, she continued her practice, and 2012, she began her training as a teacher of Jaya Yoga, a style of vinyasa. After completing her 200RYT in 2014, she began teaching regularly. Her classes offer a sanctuary to fully connect with the body, to slow the mind and to experience the Essence of one’s own Being. Stacey brings her professional background in education and an understanding of anatomy, trauma, psychology and energy work to her presence and practice as a yoga instructor.
Stacey is the author of Half Moon Over: Poems West of the Divide (Cedar & Peaches Press, 2015). In 2012, her short documentary, Baby Boy Church was featured West Coast film festivals including those in Bend and Eugene, Oregon, Spokane, Washington and Healdsburg, California.
